even all these years, there’s a tiny part of me that hopes that get nominated and win

  2. Few-Willingness-3845

Well, at least I appreciate the split announcements so we don’t waste time.

  3. Seven didn’t get a group duo nominations, Jimin’s pop solo were a long shot anyways

  4. pintsized_baepsae

Well, those were our best chances… 🙁

ETA: At least we’ll all get plenty of sleep that night. 🙂

Can someone tell me who was nominated for best pop duo if JK wasn’t?!?!?!

  6. Grammys nominating the same artist every year like where’s the diversity

  7. Hmmm most-streamed pop song of the year not being on the list is insane lmao

  8. GRAMMYs are a mix of nominating totally unheard of artists and their darlings.

It makes absolutely no sense to me how “SEVEN” was ignored. None.

Apparently the full list is available on the Grammy website but I can’t find it. That live was boring and so short.

  10. Did they announce the Rap categories? I know it’s a long shot that Yoongi will be nominated but did I miss them announcing them?

  11. Disappointed… though not surprised.

Obviously, I would have been excited if any of OT7 got nominated as individuals. But I still want them to be nominated and win as a group.

Additionally, I wish other Kpop groups had gotten recognition and been nominated.

  12. Well, I can’t say this wasn’t expected. BTS will probably get nominations when they come back as a group

Spotify steams and peak global position for the nominees

    Miley Cyrus/Brandi Carlile 38k, 173

Lana Del Rey/Jon Batiste 689k, can’t find the exact peak

    Labrinth/Billie Eilish (billie isn’t even credited as a performer) 184k, 37

    Taylor Swift/Ice Spice 67k, 3

    SZA/Phoebe Bridgers 132k, 58

    JK/Latto 1.05B, 1

I know good music doesn’t always mean charts or streams as dictated by my music interests outside of kpop but if we’re talking about a POP category it’s just baffling that the biggest song of the summer wouldn’t be considered.

Was really hoping D Day and Indigo would get a nomination. They don’t have streams or sales for korean awards. I was really hoping at least critics would notice the rapline.

I realized yesterday that I didn’t read any predictions this year, and read the predictions last night and was like…ohhh this year is a bit boring based on the music that the academy wants to highlight. Like just very traditional picks…i guess

It’s a shame to not see any of the members great work, but overall i think the grammys this year is pretty lackluster across multiple categories.

Note and non-kpop: Did love seeing victoria monet get highlighted in the genre categories!

  16. After best duo, I gave up and switched my streaming to the UK chart announcement on Radio 1 – something I haven’t listened to since I was 18 I think – to at least hear some good news with wherever SNTY charts today. Hoping for #2 in 20 minutes or so 🙏.

  17. Few-Willingness-3845

Probably won’t happen but I hope Army Tweet just goes silent about this. No need to give them more engagement. 😆

    Stream Golden. Thank you. 💜

  18. Asian representation in general is sorely lacking (still).

No BTS representation comes as zero surprise. The Academy’s hand was forced the last few years. Now it’s back to the status quo.

  19. Wow these noms are so weird to me especially that Taylor and Ice Spice remix because it was really disliked and it got nommed over Boys a Liar pt 2?

  20. KookiesMikrokosmos

I‘m not surprised but can’t help to be a little disappointed ngl 😕

  21. Minn3sota_Loon

Wow. I have to say I’m not surprised but surprised at the same. No noms. Not even Seven. Most of the same artists in the main categories too at that. Remember that Forbes article excerpt: who really needs who again?
