mine came in the mail from Flatiron today and I was shook! they were giving them away to the first 500 to submit a receipt of the book. I can’t believe I have these.

WAIT I have a random UPS notification from “TSI / St. Martens Press” and I haven’t ordered any books so I was so confused. I entered my info into the site forever ago but never received an email or anything – could this be what it is?
UPDATE: It was the photocards! They definitely seem a bit different to regular photocards. The corners are very rounded and they don’t have the little punch tabs I’m used to so they feel a little “unofficial” in a way, but overall I’m still happy to have them!
Congratulations on getting those! Seems crazy to me that the American editor only distributed 500 of those.
My photocard-nerd self loves spoting the differences between the sets printed by different editors, the set I got with the Korean edition have a very typical photocard shape with specs while the set I got with the French edition has slightly rounder corners and no specs. The Flatiron one seems to have very rounded corners. International editors are probably not used to print photocards 😂

Wait what, I got these with my copy of the book ages ago… I assumed everyone had them! Well that’s exciting 🤩 although one has gone to my penpal in the letter exchange so my set is incomplete lol

I was surprised that my non-English translation of the book had them inserted. I forgot that they were a pre-order benefit. I also got the English translation, which didn’t have photocards.

I thought these all came with the pre-orders as standard? Got mine from a UK retailer and the photocards were just tucked in the book.

A little confused. Is this for countries other than USA? I know that barnes and nobles were giving photocards with purchase of the book. Were there only 500 sets from flatiron?
I got the photocards in my book. My husband bought it for me from Powell’s. It definitely wasn’t a pre-order though. He saw a post saying they had some extra copies with photocards and got it as a surprise.
I pre-ordered from Waterstones (UK) and got a set. They had a limited number for website pre-orders which I think were first-come, first-served. Apparently some people also received them in-store at some branches.

It’s actually cheaper than the English version for some reason, haha, and the material of the pages feels more premium.
this is wild, i assumed all the (physical) copies came withs photocards. after finishing the audiobook i ended up buying the dutch version for the qr codes. the photocards were stuck on the back, so it’s not like they were hidden either.

I ordered my book of Amazon and didn’t even get the original photocards 😭
I live in the U.S. and bought my book at B&N – I went specifically to buy it there after reading comments online that B&N was the only U.S. retailer giving out PCs with the book (while supplies last). I went in mid-late July and luckily still got them. The store said they didn’t get them on the release date, which is why they probably still had some.
Can anyone confirm that the texture of the photo cards is kind of more papery as opposed to the shiny glossy cards?
