  2. What has everyone been reading / playing / watching lately? Also, for people who reply do you prefer this question during the middle of the week or the weekend weekly thread haha.

    My update is LENGTHY today.

Reading: I finished 3 books! Chlorine by Jade Song, Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica, and The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw.

**Chlorine** I found very compelling. I never was a student athlete but was in a similarly high-stress environment when I was in high school. So some of it was very wow I felt that but also like… wow that’s a lot lol. It was wild and I enjoyed it for the most part! It was very engrossing to me so it was a quick read. If you are at all squeamish, it gets quite descriptive so I’d suggest caution!

**Tender is the Flesh** was something that came on my radar because everyone was talking about the cannibalism book that made them sick, made them rethink eating meat, etc. Overall, it is a big meh from me. I understand what it was trying to do, but personally, for me I didn’t find it very shocking or effective. Additionally I saw the ending coming a mile away.

I picked up **The Salt Grows Heavy** because I guess I wanted more goriness (also more mermaids) haha. I really, really enjoyed this short little novella! It had some of the most beautiful and evocative prose I’ve read lately. I, for one, am grateful for e-readers and their built-in dictionaries because I was looking up words a lot. It never came off as “SAT word of the day” to me like some books can, maybe because this high-level vocab was truly entwined throughout the writing instead of just peppered in seemingly randomly. Some people may think it’s too purple prosey but idk I liked it haha. Out of these three, this was definitely the most intense body horror / gore wise. Loved the ending – it got me misty eyed whew. Above all else, I am a sap.

Playing: I finished Radiant Tale! My ranking of routes is >!Ion > Paschalia > Vilio > Radie > Zafora!<. Overall I really liked it. For being a game that I really only ever saw described as fairly light-hearted it got pretty dark?! Yeah sure, there are no bad ends but >!two of the ‘normal ends’ are absolutely cut from the ‘bad end’ cloth imo. I’m a bad end enjoyer so this is not me complaining lol. It just surprised me, especially in comparison to the other normal ends!<.

I’m probably gonna just be going through the routes I haven’t played in Jack Jeanne for now – I only have three left! I don’t want to start any completely unplayed games since the October onslaught is coming haha. Maybe I’ll get around to playing some non-otome too. 🤔

Watching: Gonna need to figure out what to watch once My Happy Marriage ends this upcoming week. 😔 It would be nice if it gets another season!

  3. The past couple of weeks, I’ve actually been teaching myself KPop choreo. I’m by no means rhythmically adept but it’s an itch I just got to scratch. It’s frustrating at times not being able to get it at first but getting it done is nice. Right now I feel like I just got Super by Seventeen down and I just got Seven memorized.

  4. Wishing my fellow Jewish ARMYs a sweet and happy new year! שנה טובה ומתוקה 🍎🍯

  5. u/bonanderson and I were looking everywhere for the most recent issue of *POP Magazine* featuring V. It seemed to be sold out everywhere. BUT we managed to find copies for sale on eBay AND it was reasonably priced.

  6. Of course, I know the circumstances were very different but I really wish Jin had managed to have a magazine cover, not only because of the pictures but for the interview.
