Jimin, my other bias!! 🥹🥹🥹 He is always just so earnest. I love that it sounds like he had a pretty typical military experience, hard but not too hard. I am sure it helped that he had JK at his side. He seemed so nervous about it right before they enlisted so I’m glad it went all right for him. Does he not know all his awards are easily Googled, lol? Maybe he was just more surprised the guy took the time to look that stuff up. Similarly, if he was nervous about ARIRANG, I hope he is feeling amazing now!
…although it sounds like he’d prefer I don’t always make him feel amazing? 🤣 Jimin, you need to, uh… quit being so amazing!!! It makes me feel inadequate!!! You’re a real jerk for that!!! 💜
Loved how much the interviewer talked about his solo career , absolutely loved it. His solo career has been massively successful and loved to hear him talk about it.
And what do you mean that Be mine had a choreo and we never got to see it?
this was a nice little interview, honestly. very insightful on a several accounts:
one was about how most of the other military mates they had were way younger than them because i remember thinking this when there were discussions about how well the members were fairing in the military. them being creatures of discipline through their careers is def a reason, but the other is them being the hyungs by a large margin. most korean men enrol super early, before they’ve graduated or right after, so even mentally the members and other k-idols/actors that enlist later are more equipped to deal with being in that environment.
i loved how he explained that us fans loving them, somewhat unconditionally, can be an agent of complacency and how he is cognizant of it and is also endeavouring to rise above that stagnant mindset and strive towards constant improvement. like he clarified, this isn’t him being hard on himself but that’s just how he sees his work and having goals to achieve skills-wise could be a source of motivation necessary for a performer at his level.
jk ranking first in the foot race and jimin second, no one is surprised 😭😭 both of them are super fast lol
jimin’s already made so much improvement vocally and ‘they don’t know about us’ is lyrically and i think even melodically my favourite song on the album. his songwriting keeps leveling up. it’ll be fun to see what his next solo work will sound like!
Be Mine was supposed to have choreo?! I remember some ARMYs asking for an MV because Be Mine was meant for dancing!
The bit about him working hard to get more vacation days is funny, I have the same mindset. The more I work, the more I can travel and go on vacation lol
Every single one of them has said so far that this chapter is all about them having fun and enjoying themselves. IMO it’s great to read their mindset now that a great burden has been lifted off their shoulders (enlistment). There are still a lot of stressors and pressure but I really appreciate their direct statements that they want to take it easier and just have fun as BTS right now.
I liked the question about his unique voice. It doesn’t come up often on interviews but it’s true, Jimin truly has a very unique voice and has a style of singing that only him can do. It’s very attractive, I’ve seen it in videos of people reacting to his vocals, he just draws you in. Him crediting his parents was cute lol and saying the members inspired him was really nice. BTS is a group that truly loves music.
His confidence in songwriting and as an artist is wonderful to see. Their solo work really helped them grow and improve.
I wonder what kind of concept he’d explore for his next solo album. FACE and MUSE were like twins, FACE had the darker concept while MUSE was more optimistic and giddy.
My gosh, Park Jimin is so naturally charming, I don’t know how Brian handled himself as well as he did here. The way he was leaning in so attentively, smiling slightly while looking straight at Brian the whole time, I think *I* was the one blushing through the screen. I was so impressed by his English comprehension too, when he kept reacting to the questions and statements even before getting the translations.
– This is now the 5th individual interview with a BTS member, and the thought that came to me while watching is, *”Goodness, I think these boys are incapable of ever getting big heads”*, which is mind-blowing considering the level of success they’ve reached. Take Jimin here. Any compliment he receives, he is so quick to pay it forward and credit someone else, whether it be his own members or the producers he worked with. His big takeaway from his solo success is that he needs to get better and be more thoughtful about his work. It’s incredible! – Speaking of getting better, **”I want to be a better singer”**, is something Jimin has consistently said from the very beginning of his career. I don’t think it’s controversial to say that this era, we’re witnessing him at his very BEST. It’s not just the delivery, but even his attitude towards singing. I see him going for harmonies, extended notes, singing every line, being so at ease, and I’m just so, so proud. I know he’s put in so much work, and I hope he’s super proud of himself, that he knows we’re HEARING the growth and are blown away. – Really loved him elaborating on the themes for “they don’t know ’bout us”. He spoke about it briefly during the Studio Notes live but this one felt even clearer. This song starting out as telling fans that we’re almost stifling their growth by celebrating them so much, it makes you pause a bit, doesn’t it? I think parts of Hobi’s verse echo those sentiments – *”some kinda heroic beings, too hard to break”*, *”we can’t relate, we’re just seven people though”*. – My favorite part of the interview was his takeaway from his solo albums being, ***”I can be less afraid with my songwriting”*** 🥹 After watching “Jimin’s Production Diary”, I’ve been the biggest advocate for praising Jimin’s incredible ear and talent for melodies and compositions. I think he’s a genius at it, I really do! So, to have him acknowledge that about himself makes me so happy. I’m also once again, deeply grateful for that song camp he did with Bighit producers, and especially to Pdogg who was ALWAYS ready to catch all the melodies Jimin came up with.
After this interview, I am incredibly excited to see what music Jimin presents us with over the coming years. The future feels so bright!
Where is that Be mine dance? You cannot just mention things like that without giving anything lol Loved this little interview with him he looks very considerate
Excuse me Jimin, there was choreography for Be Mine??? We must see it!! Please 🥺
Did anyone else notice that he didn’t include dance on his list of things he needs to improve? I’m proud of him for that. Not that long ago, I believe for Face, he said he never believed he was actually a good dancer, he simply loved it.
Really enjoyed this because I mean duh he’s my bias, but why is his interview almost three minutes shorter than everyone else’s?! I’m not happy about that. Maybe he was late (ok that’s what I’m gonna tell myself). I love how he is so focused on improving, always. 🐥
Jimin has so much depth to him, his emotional intelligence is off the charts. He’s both self aware and observant. Being able to adapt to circumstances, read a room, then make an adjustment is such a difficult skill most people struggle to do it with sincerity.
A common thread in these interviews is the members wanting ARMY to see them as fully formed human beings, not as deities. It’s not just their maturation, it’s they are grounded in themselves, inviting us to either accept or not.
