Hello, r/bangtan!

For many years now, since /u/dorkprincess started in 2015, r/bangtan has had a time capsule to document BTS’ growth. The tradition continued with /u/whyohwhy115 and now it’s my turn. I hope I can do them both justice! You can see all the old time capsules on this wiki page!

Without further ado, here’s BTS’ 2025 time capsule, enclosed December 29, 2025 at 9 AM KST to be opened sometime between December 21, 2026 and December 31, 2026 (Ideally at approx this same time again ;)).

BTS

• There are seven members.
• BTS is under Big Hit Music, a subsidiary of HYBE Corp (Formerly BigHit Entertainment)
• All seven members are now released from military service! RM and V on June 11, 2025, Jimin and Jung Kook on June 12, 2025, and Yoongi on July 21, 2025.
• The group announced their next comeback will be Spring 2026.

• The leader of a hacker group that tried to steal HYBE shares from Jung Kook worth 8.4 billion won was extradited to Korea from Thailand. After Jung Kook enlisted in 2024, an impersonation attempt was made to gain access to his securities account. HYBE immediately flagged suspicious activity and froze the account. No funds were lost.
• BTS Movie Weeks debuted in cinemas. Included were '2016's HYYH On Stage: Epilogue', '2017's Wings: The Final', '2019's Speak Yourself: London', and '2021's Muster: Sowoozoo'

Charity

• Jin donated 100 million won to Seoul Asan Medical Center for Children's Day. The donation will be used to improve treatment for pediatric and adolescent patients.
• j-hope donated 200 million won to Seoul Asan Medical Center for his birthday. He announced his attention to donate each year on his birthday to support improvements to the medical facilities and the research of severe and rare diseases in children.
• Jin donated 100 million won to Korea University Medical Center to help patients that suffer from incurable illnesses in underdeveloped countries.
• SUGA donated 5 billion won to Yonsei University's Severance Hospital to establish a treatment center for children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder. In addition, he helped to develop the program and worked closely with a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry AND worked with the children to help them communicate and share their emotions through music.
• Several members donated to help to support victims and firefighters after forest fires devastated South Korea. Over 20 separate fires broke out from March to May and were considered the worst in South Korean history.

  • Jung Kook donated 1 billion won to the Hope Bridge Korea Relief Association
  • RM donated 100 million won to the Hope Bridge Korea Relief Association

• RM donated 100 million won each to Seoul Asan Medical Center and Korea University Medical Center on his birthday.

• Jimin donated donated over 100 million won for students in Jeonbuk, Busan, Jeonnam, and Gangwon
