Suga with RM far behind (mostly the dimples and Jimin in the far far distant third
Joon’s is the only one who looks remotely like its real life counterpart. And maybe there are tiny hints of Hobi and Yoongi. But the rest? 😬

I would say V. Not because it actually looks like him but cause I like the hair and the very blank expression plus hearts on the collar.
I was gifted a Jin and V once years ago and they somehow make it back to my closet no matter how much I’ve moved them around….
Some backstory to these dolls, when they came out the fandom was held speechless of anything positive to say. We could have had it all Mattel but alas this was not our time. These have been lovingly described as cursed 😔

Tbh only hobi and yoongi dolls look a bit like them. But that didn’t stop me from getting the hobi doll since he is my ult and I can only afford one doll 😂
There was another set of dolls ( not Mattel) which had the members in their traditional hanboks …I remember hobi one looked good coz I wanted to buy it but it was way beyond my budget 😭😭
I recognise only Joon but overall these dolls gives me the creeps 🫣
I was at a 5 below in nowhereville Florida this past Christmas and there was single Tae doll with the craziest hair. Like that doll had SEEN things and somehow still on the shelf for sale. I thought about saving him from his misery.
Joon and Hobi have the most realistic faces to me…
These usually don’t creep me out but for some reason this particular picture really has me feeling like their eyes are trying to reach deep into my soul hahaha.
I think JK’s or Suga’s would be the best of the bunch! I like RM’s dimple too but they kinda made him look like a cross between himself and the actress Jin Hee-Kyung.

RM, J-Hope, and Suga for me. They have similar looking faces and their hair is different. That is how I tell each member apart.
My heart says Yoongi but reality says Namjoon 💔💔
The only ones I think look remotely close are Namjoon, Jimin and Hobi. I got Hobi and Jungkook at five below because they’re so damn ugly that I just love them that much more. Low key one of my favorite parts of my collection.
Funny story — my very sweet and supportive parents got me these dolls one Christmas. When I unwrapped one doll (J-Hope, I think) I held back laughter, smiled, and said: “Thank you so much!” to my mom who looked so pleased. Then I unwrapped another, (Jimin), while thinking they got me the two dolls they could find at the store. Holding back tears of laughter, I thanked them again, a grown woman with what was becoming a pile of Bangtan Boy Barbies.
Finally, I realized they got me all seven of them and I started laughing so hysterically I almost started crying. My mom was confused at first, worried she did something wrong, and I told her that I loved them. Because honestly, despite how uncanny they are — despite looking nothing like the boys, that memory alone is why I kind of cherish them. I used to hate those dolls with a passion, and then my parents did everything they could to find me all seven just because they knew I liked BTS. So now, they’re proudly stored on my shelves even though they look silly. It gives me a good laugh sometimes. I’m super grateful.

Overall these dolls are such a funny part of Bangtan history. Oh the memes.

it took me a hot second, but i think i figured out who each one was 😅
Here’s what I think they got right:
Suga: eye shape, specifically, the under eye
Jungkook: nose
Jimin: nothing
J-hope: mouth expression
RM: eye shape, dimple
Jin: lips
Taehyung: cheekbones, stare as if I just asked him if he likes peas on jjajangmyeon
Really only Joon and Jhope look like them

Jin and V look nothing like them and really its only their outfit and hair that seperates them and the hair on them is a tragic
Not a fan of the Mattel dolls and opt for the chibi versions of the members, especially their TinyTan collections of figures and own a few Tinytan figures of them especially one Nendoroid of Taehyung
I say the Deluxe Statues of the members sold in Hot Topic look far better, not dolls and super expensive now at near $200 each
Though thats me on being a collection of figurines, especially anime and Funko pops

Why do I feel like there’s multiple Jimin’s just staring into my soul?!
These always have been so creepy to me. A non-ARMY friend found one at a discount store recently, and I may have even flinched at the text.
However, my kiddo got a random Ken that we call BTS bc even though he also looks nothing like them, he at least looks like a Ken. Plus styling is coded borahae to me – purple hair, plaid color blocking like the boys wear (e.g. Yoongi in Ddaeng practice clip), and converse high 😘. I like to think this was ARMY designer trying to let us know what might have been.
