edit: found it.. i’m just gonna keep my mouth shut outside of summarizing for anyone outside of the know:
in the court case regarding MHJ’s payout, there was a question of whether or not the group Illit is/was a plagiarism of NewJeans (for styling, musically, etc). MHJ submitted to the court text messages between her and Taehyung where he agreed that he thought the two were similar. these were private messages and based on this text, he was not asked before she submitted these as public evidence.

Poor Tae, I feel so awful that he’s forced to be involved in this when he obviously doesn’t want to be and when everything he’s said is going to be picked apart in a way it was never intended to be.

i’m glad he cleared things up quickly but i also feel so bad for him for even having to do so. he should be focusing his energy on the upcoming comeback and concert and now that’s derailed by private messages that should have never be used as evidence, especially without his consent.

It’s not surprising because he was close to most of the involved parties. It’s only normal to empathize with you friends, she was close enough the make his entire album. I’m sure most people would not act like the world ended because of this 😅

I feel so bad for V and illit. Like I can’t imagine his texts being used without his consent and manipulated to appear to mean something else. I’m glad he cleared it up very quickly. I really hope they can stop any of his other private conversations from being used in all of this.
I really hate it because it was his private conversations. We can’t keep asking him to stay quiet on everything even from people around him, because during this conversation, he was speaking as Kim Taehyung, not the idol V. Times like this when they specifically have to come out and say they are upset, it makes me realise how horrible of a life they actually live, and how we don’t seem to be helping them in any way.
I wonder how it feels to have someone you closely worked with and respected as a creative using you like that…yikes

Honestly the original comment sounds like something I’d say to somebody about something I don’t really want to get into but I also want to be empathetic to whatever they’re going through. I do that with work colleagues *all* the time.
I think the best thing for ARMY to do is to simply not allow anything like this to take attention from the comeback. Glad he cleared it up, sucks that he had to, but Arirang in a month!
