Hi hi book luvers of /r/bangtan! Y’all, January is finally. over. Something about that month makes it seem like it’s 20 billion years long, and also why is it so cold everywhere?? But now it’s done and we’re into Hobi-uary and one month closer to the comeback of the decade! While you wait and start planning for the album drop and the tour (and scrolling through the Sell/Trade thread) and keep refreshing your Weverse to see if maybe they’ll go live or keep ghosting us until March, come distract yourself here with our book club!

Our pick for this month is….

Ways of Seeing by John Berger

Based on a four-part 1972 BBC documentary series of the same name, it is considered one of the most influential and accessible works of writing about art in the English language. Consisting of four textual essays and three picture essays bereft of text, this book deconstructs the dominant cultural ‘gaze’ towards art and connects it with the way we regard and ascribe meaning, both to works of art and to the world around us.
