Babies are going to be made to that Lofi version.
some of these versions are highlighting his harmonies so nicely. it’s so perfect for JK in particular, our harmonizer lord
Is the LoFi supposed to be the passionate and sultry mix? I guess…
Don’t get me wrong, I like it! But I would have liked a little *more* sultry, more than just lyrics that are slowed down a little.
ETA: The other mixes are nice, too, but I think the Band mix is still my favorite.
I like lofi a lot. So far I haven’t been impressed with the remixes (I mean I want JK singing it a cappella), but the lofi is good.
What is BH’s strategy with these visualizers? I feel a bit overwhelmed
the lofi one is so taehyung lmao get your hyung on a remix jk! or at least him have a brass solo!
These are fun and boppy! It also warmed my heart to see so much of Warsaw featured in those city shots.
Didn’t bother with the visualizers yet – went straight to Spotify to listen, will give them a watch tomorrow.
I gasped so loud in the first second of the Lo-fi but then it was kind of just ok? I think all these mixes are cool but i wish for the Lo-Fi and Nightfall JK had been able to re-record a more chill version rather than interpose the regular track over-top. Would have been interesting to hear what he would have done – that’s not to say he might do something different in a live performance if he chose.
I think where these mixes shine is the different harmonies and instrumentation and also during Latto’s verse. There’s *a lot* of really cool things happening underneath her that I didn’t expect but loved. Maybe I’ll listen to them a few more times and see if any stick but for now the Band & OG versions have all my attention ✌🏼
^(also can anyone tell what is the difference between the festival and island mixes?)
Edit: weverse had linked the wrong one to the Festival mix so I didn’t hear the right one.
Lofi is closing time, finding someone and 100x more sexual vibes than the actual explicit version. Very much in the realm of Keshi/Justin Park and I am here for this.
Also population growth in 9 months… 😂
I love these
Island is my favourite visually, it’s just reallynice to watch. I’m torn between Island and Festival for my fave musically (out of these new remixes I mean – Explicit will always be my fave version overall)
Bighit finally discovering the importance of visualizers 😭😭 they should put all the b-sides as visulazers in the future. Also maybe give us lyrics with them 😔
The Island remix visulazer 👌 the way they capture every mood in each visulazer dayuum.
Omg what I would give for JK to do a lofi BBC Radio1 performance!!
I was hoping for an explicit remix 😭 that said, I’m really loving the lo fi mix. I hope they get to an acapella version!! I’m still obsessed with the one he sang on the live
Lofi and festival for me! I’m glad they made these. The slower lyrics help me enjoy the song more.
Posted this in r/bts also, but I figured I’d add my two cents here as well:
(BG: come from a family of musicians, been surrounded by all kinds of music all my life, cannot go a day without my earbuds and music, also learned piano for 6 years and in general have a fairly good ear for music and what works together, what doesn’t)
I’m not a fan of the LoFi and Nightfall remixes, at all. I really really wanted to like them, and I think they can be done much better, because the lyrics would go superbly with a slower, more lofi or sexy kind of vibe. BUT, they would have to re-record it with slower vocals, maybe leave out the rap part to compensate for song length with everything slowed down.
Right now LoFi just feels completely disconnected to me – the BG music is nice, slow, relaxing, takes me to dark lounges and sexy tall dark strange men (lol). But then the vocals in their OG speed burst through the door like a bullet train, crash through and leave a mess behind. This is what the LoFi version sounds and feels like for me. Slow down the vocals, though, and you get a superb sexy dim-lit lounge vibe that will (slowly) rock your socks off.
Nightfall is just a tiny bit better than LoFi, but when I listened to that, I got the feeling like the BG music constantly wanted to play faster than it should. It’s kind of like a nervous person trying to play a piece at a concert, where they keep picking up speed just to get it over with faster. There was a constant feeling of rush, even though nightfall for me should be the time to slow things down, calm down and not rush anymore. Add to that the vocals in the OG speed and the feeling of being rushed through the song got even worse.
Festival Mix is, for the lack of a better word, generic. Bland even, in some spots. Yes, it fits with the vocals’ speed and the of vibe of the song much better, and makes my head bop, but is very much forgettable, just another festival song in the midst of thousands that sound exactly the same. True, I’m not the biggest fan of generic festival music exactly because it’s so forgettable, but, well… to each their own, I say 🙂
And then we have the Island remix. In my opinion the best out of the bunch. Fits the vocals’ speed, has a funky background, again makes me bop along with it and just vibes well. I still think the OG versions (both clean and dirty) are my favourites, but out of these four I would say Island remix vibes the best and fits together overall fairly seamlessly.
Again, this is just my opinion, I am not trying to diminish anyone’s work here (especially the people who worked hard on the remixes), just pointing out things that didn’t sound the best to my ears. But also, what do I know, I’m not a recording artist or even an official singer 😅😅
