I don’t like McDonald’s but my husband does, and he’s not opposed to Happy Meals… will have to persuade him he needs a treat 😂
I gave up McDonald’s (horrible food poisoning) so this is an easy skip for me.
Plus this was totally spoiled months ago, so not surprised by this.
I don’t know what they’re about to promote or why there would be any dumbass controversy, but I tell you what, I did like the sauces ALOT in that last BTS meal they had many years ago.
Oh cool! I get Happy Meals anyway (for cheapness and bc the amount of food is right) so I might swing by . . .
I feel like mcdonalds has done some really great collaborations recently. There was a pokemon one a couple of months ago, which saw me deliberately visit!

I find happy meals an interesting approach, compared to last time with the general adult meal. I guess they’re targeting merch collectors specifically – “oh I need to go seven times to get seven members.”
Anyway as a former fast food worker my thoughts are with the employees having to deal with people trying to collect all the figures 😅.
Hopefully we can just buy the toys after buying just 1 happy meal. Don’t want this to be like the Pokemon card issue in Japan. Unless this is just exclusive in one country?

yay! i was wondering when it would be! i remember someone had posted the happy meal schedule some time ago! i thought it was line friends themed though but must have remembered wrong.
we have a kid and we got to mcdonald’s a lot unfortunately. so excited to be able to have a couple! idk if it’s going to be like the ninja turtles one where 2/4 times we have gotten them a happy meal it’s been out of stock and got a book which is really cool too!
There will be a mixed response to this one, but I’ll add in my two cents. I’ve been a fan since 2017 (which omg at this point was almost 10 years ago). I was not too bothered by their partnerships with Samsung or MediHeal or what not back in the day because I felt that those companies ate their home territory and helped their image.
Immediately before the Pandemic, that partnered with McDonald’s. Honestly as an avid fan, I felt disappointed by that partnership because McDonald’s is the epitome of sleazy corporate America so, by association, I feet that partnership diluted their image as serious artists.
However, I think collaboration with McDonald’s and Coca-Cola in this current political climate is very tone deaf. These brands are wisely associated with a very serious issue globally, the protests regarding which are taking place in South Korea too. Granted, some idols do not want to take a stance politically. That had never been BTS though and they are also UNICEF representatives. At the very least, the smart move would have been to avoid brands right now that are the most politically inflammatory. On a personal level though, I just am a little disappointed that the artists who I cherished because of their messages of healing, self-love, and standing up against what isn’t right would turn a blind eye to an extremely important crisis that’s dividing the world right now.
