I don’t know if it quite fits the theme but, a few years ago, I was at an academic conference where a researcher was giving a powerpoint presentation on her research into the impact of learning traditional crafts on the personal resiliency of Indigenous children and youth living in communities in a certain region in Canada.
One of the crafts that the kids learned was beadwork, so the researcher naturally showed pictures of the pieces of beadwork they made. Amongst some lovely depictions of flowers, animals and geometric shapes was a piece that showed the letters JK. I idly thought, “Gee, wouldn’t it be neat if JK referred to Jungkook”. Literally 10 seconds later the presenter said something like “Of course, the youth made designs that reflect their interests and priorities. In this design the letters JK refer to a kpop artist named Jung Kook. I’m told [she said with an uncertain tone] that he’s a member a group called, er, BTS?!”
So many things in my everyday life remind me of BTS and/or the members.
A very small example: I saw a TINY and very simple metal pin in the shape of the number ‘7’.
Most people assume it’s just a ‘lucky 7’, but to me it’s my ‘lucky BTS’ charm
I HAD to have it. It has a permanent place on my denim jacket.

There’s like this white bus that I see driving around at least once a week that says BTS really huge on it. It stands for Beltway Transportation Services, but I always imagine that it’s the Bangtan Transportation Services and the boys are inside! I always want to joke with someone that “I saw BTS today” but I don’t have any army friends TT
I always get very excited when bts or any of the members are mentioned. I play NYT crossword pretty often and I’ve seen BTS or a member come up actually quite a bit! I always have the biggest grin on my face when I see the hint and immediately know it’s our boys 💜
I still can’t believe they thought army can forget about them. Bangtan for life 💜💜💜
I have a Kookmin bank that’s visible from my apartment balcony. I noticed it only after 5 months of living here. Apparently it’s a huge Korean bank with some global branches but I’ve never heard of it in my country before so automatically I can only think of our Bangtan kookmin when I see it.

I have a cousin who is Army. We’ve always lived in different cities far from each other, so we’ve not been very close since childhood. More like wedding and family event cousins.
Anyway, when I first followed Bangtan on Insta, I noticed she followed them, so after a while plucked up the courage to ask if she was Army too. And now we have a semi regular dm convo about how we were coping through enlistment and discharge. And we’ll be meeting up at Jin’s show!
I probably wouldn’t have talked to her much outside family events otherwise!

Every time I see the moon I think of Namjoon.
I remember the Easter after Jimin and Jungkook enlisted. My grandma always hands out little chocolates after the meal. Mine was a little chick/duck and I almost broke down at the table. I hid it pretty well, I guess, because none of my family gave me strange looks and ate their chocolates in peace. At first I was going to save little Jimin until his namesake came back, but I didn’t want him to rot on my windowsill so I ate him. He was delicious. I have no regrets.
